Located in Melbourne, Australia, the Bourke Street Project showcases Libart’s advanced retractable solutions for contemporary spaces. In collaboration with LouvreTec Melbourne, this installation features a Retractable Skylight System combining ClearSky and SunRoof technologies. Designed to deliver maximum flexibility and natural light, the system transforms the environment into a dynamic indoor-outdoor experience while maintaining energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal.
The project includes two roof sections:
- Roof 1 Side A: Span 4.5m, Length 13.7m, 4 modules, 8 bays, R3 retraction
- Roof 1 Side B: Span 1.9m, Length 13.7m, 4 modules, 8 bays, R3 retraction
The glazing specification—10mm Temp SN 29/18 #2 + 16mm Argon + 55.4 (5mm Clear Temp + 1.52 Acoustic PVB + 5mm Clear Temp)—ensures superior thermal insulation, acoustic performance, and safety. Identified as Project No. 10022, this solution exemplifies Libart’s commitment to innovation and precision engineering.
The challenge was to integrate a retractable skylight system into a modern architectural setting without compromising design integrity. Libart’s ClearSky and SunRoof systems provided the ideal solution, offering smooth operation and a sleek profile that complements the building’s contemporary aesthetic. The result is a versatile space that adapts to seasonal changes, enhances natural lighting, and improves energy efficiency—delivering both functional and visual value to the client.
