Jeju Island is the luxurious tourist destination in South Korea and often referred to as the Hawaii of South Korea. Millions of visitors came to this island every year. Hotels, restaurants, and many other hospitality establishments are operating for decades and more are surfacing every year to be at the service of travelers. Recent years also show the increase in residential projects on the Island. It is because of the island became the status for luxury lifestyle among the South Koreans.
This project of Libart at a residential apartment in Jeju Island is unique as it puts the motion in the architecture of the building. It all happens because the owners were keen to give an edge to their residential space among many in the neighborhood. Almost all of the residential apartments in the neighborhood have a swimming pool; some have indoor and some have outdoor. Indoor swimming pools are operational all around the year, but they lag the emotion and ultimate luxurious experience of an outdoor swimming pool. Outdoor swimming pools are loved by people, but the weather creates limitations to operational capability. It has to be closed in winter seasons or if the weather is not favorable such as rainy or windy.
Taking into account the above-mentioned problems, the owners think that if they can find the solution, they will get the USP (unique selling point). A swimming pool that has the indoor comfort and outdoor freedom. Their hunt for the solution completed with Libart Lean-To retractable structure.
The retractable structure was installed utilizing the wall of the building. It has two parts that move from the center to the left and right for the opening. The automated movement of the aluminum glass profiles was possible using the 380 VAC motor (2 units). Two end walls are also part of the system which have the Vasistas window. This structure has 6 base models and 6 modules, and the color code is RAL 8004.
We know that this particular neighborhood has so many residential spaces that feature pools but the Libart retractable translucent structure lets in the sunshine; adding the “wow” factor that differentiates House Hyupjae from others.
This “wow” factor can go a long way in both retaining current members and attracting new ones. As the client stated, “No other establishment in our area has a retractable pool enclosure system and it’s a completely different experience than a traditional indoor pool or an outdoor pool, providing us with a distinct competitive advantage.”
